Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport: A Gateway to Adventure

The Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport saw over 43,000,000 passengers flow through their airport last year. It’s one of the largest hubs for both American Airlines and Southwest Airlines, making it one of the busiest airports in the country. While you’re waiting to catch your flight to over 80 destinations, stop by the newly opened InMotion store in terminal 4 to shop for the latest electronics.

Get a Feel for the Local Art

The Phoenix Airport Museum

The Phoenix Airport Museum is a great way to kill time while you’re waiting to board your flight. The Exhibits are spread over Terminal 2, 3 and 4. The art collections in each gallery are always changing. You can expect to see local art depicting Native American life in the southwestern United States, exhibits showing off local organic architecture, and various photography series. One of the most popular exhibits is the Recycle Runway, where artists display various high fashion pieces made of totally recycled materials. Another popular exhibit, entitled Art of The Ride, features custom painted motorcycles.

If the art doesn’t catch your interest, more than likely the Aviation History Museum will. The Museum contains hundreds of pieces of memorabilia, documents and ephemera related to early aviation. This makes the perfect stop for a history buff or anyone with curiosity in aviation. Visitors can see diagrams of early planes as compared to the newest ones taking off just feet away from them.

Listening to music while browsing and examining the unique artwork in the Phoenix Airport Museum is essential. Throw on a pair of Apple Earpods and listen to something funky while you get lost in the abstract art. The Earpods sit comfortably in your ear and are truly wireless. That means you don’t need to worry about them falling out or any cords getting tangled up in your carry on bag. Perhaps the coolest feature, one you won’t find in many other wireless headphones, is the Earpods stop playing music once removed from your ears. Then they will begin playing your music again after you place them back in your ears. Another highlight of these headphones is their absurdly quick charging time. Just 15 minutes in the charging case will provide you with nearly 3 hours of listening.

Fuel Up for Your Flight with Some Healthy Food

Wildflower Bread Company

Chances are all of your traveling and wandering around the museum exhibits at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport is going to tire you out. You’re going to need some refueling and so will your electronics. Plug your phone, iPad or Apple laptop into the Qmadix 2.4A Travel Kit while you grab some food. The 6-foot cord allows you some freedom to access your phone from a distance and is longer than most charging cords. The charger even comes equipped with a lightning cable compatible with the newest iPhones.

Their food is high quality and made fresh daily with local ingredients. If you find yourself there in the morning, consider trying the Spicy Chorizo Frittata. The dish is comprised of eggs, spicy chorizo, roasted red bell peppers, avocado, salsa and more. This dish is the perfect way to start a day of traveling. There is also an extensive menu for lunch including classic sandwiches and salads, traditional southwest cuisine and a large variety of soups. But one of their most popular dishes is the Butternut Squash Ravioli with toasted walnut cream sauce and nutmeg. If you are craving something a little sweeter, have no fear. The Wildflower Bread Company has tons of scones, muffins and other baked goods, baked fresh daily.
